My name is Carly Mascitti, and I’m a sports anchor/reporter at WEWS, the ABC affiliate in Cleveland, OH. I cover the Cleveland Browns, Guardians, Cavaliers and Ohio State, along with our other local college and minor league teams. I love hosting our pre/post game shows, securing exclusive interviews and turning feature stories you won’t find anyone else in the market covering.
Prior to arriving in Northeast Ohio in 2022, I spent two years as a sports anchor/reporter at WHEC, the NBC affiliate in Rochester, NY. I primarily covered the Buffalo Bills, but I also covered the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Blue Jays, Rochester Americans and Rochester Red Wings. Before moving to Western New York, I was a sports anchor/reporter for two years at WMBB, the ABC affiliate in Panama City, FL. I covered Florida State, in addition to other local college and high school athletics.
Life before my on-air sports career provided a wide range of experience. I worked a variety of jobs in the television entertainment industry, while based in Los Angeles, CA. Among other gigs, I worked in the casting and contestant departments on NBC's The Voice, as a production coordinator for TVA Media Group and as a content creator on YouTube.
My experience extends well beyond that, though. I have worked in production and casting on various projects for ABC, NBC, Dick Clark Productions, Cornwell Casting, Really Bright Media and more.
On a personal note - I’m a Philadelphia native and Temple University graduate. For better or worse, I was raised in a Philly sports family. That, paired with playing soccer and basketball competitively, shaped my love for sports at all levels. I also enjoy living an active lifestyle, trying new things and traveling the world!
